Here are some tricks my team has used over the years to keep them “busy” throughout the day (age dependent, of course): ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • get them to pass out programs as guests arrive ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • ask them to “help” with a simple task like “can you go bring me that item from that corner?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • let’s do a race: “grab your friends and let’s see who can pick up the most rose petals off the ground before this song ends” (my fave trick LOL) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • “can you go around and collect any leftover programs from all these chairs? I’ll set my timer to see how fast you can do this! I'm baaaack!!! 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞! Slide 5 is a big accomplishment (thanks to @nytimes) and slide 9 activities have been awesome for my overall health ♟✨ ⁣ This year somehow 𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘸 𝘣𝘺 even though at times it felt like we were all craaawwwwling. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐔𝐔 for following, supporting, and referring!!! It means a LOT 🙇🏻‍♀️

PRO TIP: never leave the cards/gift table unattended. We always assign one of our planner's to oversee the table (from a distance) or assign a family member. We are VERY strict on this and no matter where the wedding is, we still ensure we have a system in place and plan for storing the gifts + cards. Funny story: there is a reason why we had to put greenery in the 1st photo, but it actually worked out for the better! The reason? Ohhhh you know, just a little crack that eventually turned into a big crack and then... we had to get a replacement box for 2020. ✨The last few months have been beyond overwhelming so the fact that I am finally feeling so calm + happy is a testament to the absolutely amazing couples + industry pros we have worked with. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫. Not only was I beaming because I was hours away from finishing our final wedding of the season (yaaasss!!!), but I was glowing because that same weekend I received news from 5 (yes, 5!!!) couples that they wanted to proceed with a contract and hire me for wedding planning services. That same weekend, I also received 3 new inquiries AND one of them is for another last minute wedding possibly taking place as early as next month 🤞🏼💕 ⁣⁣ The amount of referrals and love coming our way has been the *good* kind of overwhelming + I can’t help but feel so proud of all the work I have done behind the scenes.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The last 6+ years, I have missed many personal obligations. I have had countless sleepless nights. I became absent while consumed with work + put a strain on my personal relationships. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘸 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳. I have become more approachable. I have become more patient. I have grown stronger both physically + mentally. I have grown in my mindset. It’s funny what guests appreciate at a wedding. We could design the most incredible decor, serve the most delicious dinner, coordinate the smoothest timeline but all of those don’t matter unless the guests are well taken care of. If I had to narrow it down, I would say that 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 is the emotional rollercoaster. Each couple is dealing with the changes and impact on their own wedding and our team has dealt with everything amplified by 25-30 weddings. Looking back on March-August, I can’t help but be grateful that every single one of our couples was a dream to work with and so level headed and realistic 🙏🏼 (𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘢𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 — 𝘯𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦)⁣ ⁣ For example, I was so excited to be back at the @vancouverclub but this was another wedding we had to postpone to later next year. One of my sweet couples had booked their fall wedding in March just HOURS before everything shut down, and made the decision to postpone a couple of months later, and soon we’ll be resuming their planning for next Fall instead 🥰🤞🏼⁣ ⁣ In the meantime, I would LOVE to host an intimate wedding in this stunning ballroom. Oh heyyyyy! This is definitely not what I look like right now as I’m relaxing on the couch after a crazy busy but amazing summer wedding season (plus, my hair is blonde now) but... It’s amazing what can be planned + designed in ONE month when the couple is so sweet and the creative team aligns so perfectly.
